Short Biography

Doctor with more than 15 years of professional experience in the field of cardio-thoracic and vascular surgery. Now working as Associate Professor, Thoracic Surgery, BSMMU. Currently I am the only thoracic surgeon of BSMMU. Working with prominent specialists in Bangladesh in the respective field to learn and provide immediate and essential medical support to critically ill patients with thoracic diseases. Attended handful of International and National conferences, represented my country as well as published more than 36 National & International publications. Always had a close professional relationship with all the individuals around me and learned to work with sincerity and dedication to the patients as well as a team member. Embraced situational leadership all through my professional career in difficult situations. Hard worker and always sincere and punctual to my job. Highly motivated social humanitarian worker.

Career Accomplishments

am currently serving as Assistant Professor, Thoracic Surgery, BSMMU and I am the only thoracic surgeon. In BSMMU, first thoracic surgery case (Decortication) with general anesthesia was done on 03.08.2021. 3 (Three) thoracic neurosurgical cases and 1 (One) thoracic orthopedic case done successfully in neurosurgery OT and in orthopedic OT. 34 (thirty-four) emergency tube thoracostomy have been done on COVID 19 positive patients in COVID ICU & in Cabin Block. I also attended and actively participated 6 (Six) board meetings regarding further management of COVID 19 positive patients. Within last 3.5 years about 300 tube thoracostomy, 150 pleural biopsy and about 100 pleurodesis done by me successfully in BSMMU and privately without any mortality and morbidity. Attended and actively participated 11 (Eleven) board meetings regarding further management of patients of different disciplines such as Gastroenterology, neurosurgery, oncology, respiratory medicine, Cardiology, pediatric department etc. Attended more than 400 referral cases from different disciplines of BSMMU. Consultation done of more than 600 (Six Hundred) outdoor patients. I have been working with one of the leading & pioneer cardiac surgeons of Bangladesh Prof (Retd.). Dr. Asit Baran Adhikary sir, Ex-Chairman & Special unit chief, BSMMU as his 1st Assistant in his private cases. As a part of my MS (CV&TS) course I completed 2 years general surgery training in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) & in Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital (ShSMC), 1-year hands-on-training on cardiac surgery in BSMMU, 6 months hands-on-training in vascular surgery in NICVD and 6 months hands-on-training in thoracic surgery in NIDCH.
